EVO Visian ICL: the right answer when LASIK isn't.

Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) is a thin, biocompatible lens placed behind the iris and in front of your natural lens. It corrects high myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism without removing any corneal tissue, and unlike LASIK, it's reversible. From $1,000 per eye, with original STAAR Surgical (USA) lenses backed by a lifetime warranty.

Original STAAR Surgical lenses

Imported directly from STAAR Surgical (Switzerland) with a unique serial number per lens and a lifetime manufacturer warranty.

Right candidate selection

ICL is recommended when LASIK is unsafe (thin cornea, high myopia, early keratoconus signs). We won't sell you ICL if a safer option exists for your eye.

Reversible and removable

Unlike LASIK, the ICL can be removed or exchanged. If your prescription changes significantly later, the lens can be updated and your cornea stays untouched.

Sharper night vision than LASIK in many cases

ICL preserves the cornea's natural geometry. Patients with high myopia frequently report better night vision and less halo/glare than they would with LASIK.

ICL routes

What brought you to implantable lenses?

Choose the closest reason

Strong myopia, often with astigmatism, where a laser would have to remove a lot of tissue.

ICL, placed inside the eye

The lens sits behind the iris and in front of your natural lens. The shape of the cornea is left alone, which is what keeps high numbers workable.

Corneal thickness below what a laser correction would need, with a moderate or high prescription.

ICL with corneal follow up

Since no tissue is removed, thickness stops being the limiting factor. If the topography shows anything unusual, it gets watched on its own schedule.

Another clinic said no to LASIK and left it at that.

Repeat scan and biometry before any lens is offered

Refusals usually come down to thickness or an irregular surface. Neither one rules out an implantable lens, but anterior chamber depth and lens sizing have to be measured first.

This guide points you in a direction. Your corneal scan and your eye biometry decide the lens type and its size.

Common questions

Frequently asked.

When is ICL better than LASIK?
Three main scenarios: thin corneas (under ~480µm), high myopia (-8 D and stronger), or early signs of keratoconus on topography. ICL is also a better option for patients who want a reversible procedure.
Is the ICL visible from outside?
No. The lens is placed behind the iris (the colored part of your eye) and is invisible to the naked eye.
How long is the surgery and recovery?
The procedure takes about 15 minutes per eye under topical anesthetic drops. You'll be discharged within an hour. Most patients see clearly the following day and return to normal activities within 2-3 days.
Are the ICLs you implant genuine STAAR Surgical lenses?
Yes. Every lens is imported directly from STAAR Surgical (Switzerland), with a unique serial number traceable to the manufacturer. We provide the certificate of authenticity at the post-op visit.
How long does it take for my ICL to arrive?
Every lens is manufactured to your eye's own measurements at STAAR Surgical in Switzerland. A Toric ICL, which corrects astigmatism, is built to order and takes 3-5 months to reach us. We schedule your surgery around the lens arriving, not before it, so if you are travelling to Cairo for the procedure, come for your consultation and measurements first: the clock starts the day the lens is ordered.
How much cheaper is ICL in Cairo than in Riyadh, Dubai, or Europe?
ICL in Cairo starts at $1,000 per eye. Riyadh and Dubai are typically $2,500-$4,000 per eye. London and Berlin are €3,500-€5,000 per eye. Same lens, same technique, lower operating costs.
What if my prescription changes after ICL surgery?
The lens can be removed or exchanged for a different power if needed. This is a major advantage over corneal procedures like LASIK or SMILE, which permanently reshape the cornea.

Not sure if ICL is right for you?

Send us your topography and recent prescription. We'll respond within 24 hours with whether you're a candidate for ICL, LASIK, SMILE, or another approach, and the all-in cost.
